Cafe now open: Wednesday-Sundays
Known for arguably the best toasties in Newy - Perry The Feeder (from the much-loved Muster Point food truck in Mayfield) is bringing great coffee, tasty treats and a new cafe to The Station! Open now for takeaways while the fresh new cafe space is fitted-out.
MAKE SPACE GALLERY & WORKSHOP
A gorgeous experimental creative workshop and gallery operated by a talented collective of award-winning local artisans. The gallery showcases a collection of local handmade creations including jewellery, homewares, clothing and one-off artworks for viewing and purchase. Follow Make Space on Facebook for trading times.
From specialty homewares through to apparel for women and their little ones, Estie is focused creating a beautiful selection of products for the modern family and home. You'll find a curated selection of products, hand-picked based on their quality and creativity. Access Estie via Scott Street at The Station.
Jeweller Jacob Taranaki is a master of creating quality hand-crafted designs, with a unique and raw outside-of-the-box style. You'll find stunning retail jewellery on display, and can also sit down for a custom consult if you're after something that little bit extra special. EASEL ART SPACE: CREATIVE STUDIO
Exploring the intersection where art, science, culture and technology come together - Easel Art Space showcases local art and pop-up exhibitions, offering a variety of workshops, events, shopping and creative experiences for all age groups. MARMALADE SKY MUSIC
Led by talented singer-songwriter and all round music star Natalie Davis, Marmalade Sky Music is bringing voice, keyboard, guitar and music theory classes to The Station with one-on-one tuition, small group lessons for bands, and creative workshops during school holidays. A beautifully curated creative space celebrating art photography through the work of local photographers. Gallery Qube showcases limited edition archival prints, photography books and magazines, and hosts beginners courses in photography and Photoshop. SCOOT & PLAY
There's plenty of space for the the kids to burn energy scooting, hopscotch'ing and playing wild on the platform! Parents, there's lots of shaded picnic tables for relaxing while the kids let loose on the scooter track (BYO scooters and helmets) - grab a coffee from Perry The Feeder cafe while you wait!
THE 'FLYER' TRAIN
The Flyer is an interactive interpretation of the iconic Newcastle Flyer express steam train that ran between Newcastle and Sydney from 1929 until 1970. The public art installation on The Station's platform has lighting and interactive sounds - and is a big hit with kids and families (as well as rail enthusiasts alike)!
PLATFORM & PIAZZA
With sculpted garden beds, new paving and picnic lawns, The Station's new community piazza is a versatile space for pop-up play, markets and events. Creative design elements including a bandstand, cooling misting tracks, and an interpretive firepit celebrate the site’s Aboriginal and European history.
THE MARCHING KOALAS
Rehearsals on The Station Piazza: Tuesdays 6-8.30pm
The Station is now home to local band The Marching Koalas, who are making excellent use of the platform and piazza for rehearsals. Pop down and see them in action on on Tuesday evenings during school terms. Enjoy the show!
