E-Bikes can be rented by the hour/day/week - and The Station's piazza is the perfect place to test-ride and get comfortable before hitting the road!

The spot with the best coffee, bagels and snacks in town - TabNabs' beautiful cafe opens directly onto The Station's piazza, with lots of alfresco seating looking out onto Newcastle's stunning harbour - the perfect place for a coffee while the littlies play in the kids corner. A community minded independent bookshop specialising in a curated selection of new release Australian and International Literature.
Love a cuppa with your book? Betty's also handcraft their own small batch tea onsite using organic and Australian grown ingredients, including native Australian herbs.
MAKE SPACE GALLERY & WORKSHOP
A gorgeous experimental creative workshop and gallery operated by a talented collective of award-winning local artisans. A beautifully curated creative space celebrating art photography through the work of local photographers. Gallery Qube showcases limited edition archival prints, photography books and magazines, and hosts beginners courses in photography and Photoshop. With sculpted garden beds, new paving and picnic lawns, The Station's new community piazza is a versatile space for pop-up play, exploration, markets and events. Creative design elements including a bandstand, cooling misting tracks, and an interpretive firepit celebrate the site’s Aboriginal and European history.
MARMALADE SKY MUSIC
Led by talented singer-songwriter and all round music star Natalie Davis, Marmalade Sky Music is bringing voice, keyboard, guitar and music theory classes to The Station with one-on-one tuition, small group lessons for bands, and creative workshops during school holidays. SCOOT & PLAY
There's plenty of space for the the kids to burn energy scooting, hopscotch'ing and playing wild on the platform! There's also a kids corner with a big frog, snake and climbing obstacles - and lots of shaded picnic tables for relaxing while the kids let loose on the scooter track (BYO scooters and helmets).
THE 'FLYER' TRAIN
The Flyer is an interactive interpretation of the iconic Newcastle Flyer express steam train that ran between Newcastle and Sydney from 1929 until 1970. The public art installation on The Station's platform has lighting and interactive sounds - and is a big hit with kids and families (as well as rail enthusiasts) alike!
